To feel like she’s treated as my superior?

I’ve started a new job in a very small team of 3 (1 being the manager) and the other person only started a month before me.

I do get the impression that this person got a lot of guidance/training and then because I came in so soon after them my manager was over it.

This new colleague was the one who set up my account on a system that did it wrong and so now she runs that entire side of the business support as I physically can’t (I’ve been on calls with IT, chased up numerous times). This person has access to another system that I don’t have. They’ve been given the biggest category to support.

We’re the same job title. Brought in under the same job description. But I feel penalised for starting a whole 5 weeks later.

Ask your manager to help resolve access and request a timeline for it. Explain that you’re concerned about your output, but also your own development within your role, without these things. Leave colleague out of the conversation initially and focus on what you need. Ask manager to help you overcome the blockers. And if you can call IT, try to speak to them, or see them in person if possible, so that they can’t ignore you over email.

When it was set up wrong IT should have deleted your account and set it up properly. Spend all day on the phone to them and just keep repeating that you cannot do your job as you have no access, until they understand.
