So DS16 has just gone out with his friends and has a sleepover (aka party) tonight. His parting shot as he left was to ask us (DH and I) if we could tidy his room as he's a friend coming round tomorrow and doesn't want them to think he lives in a hovel !
I think I started laughing more when he told me it wouldn't take too long to do !!! Bless

I'd tidy it. If he reminded you, it's obviously important to him

Totally agree.

I wouldn’t embarrass him in front of his not-girlfriend. I’d tidy it but I’d put a “you owe me” note on the pillow - something he can swipe and hide. And then I’d have a proper, lengthy, chat about me not being his slave and if he’s old enough to have girls in his room he’d better learn the importance of clean sheets…
I hope the not-date date goes well for him and he stops being such a sloth.
You sound like a lovely mum.

Is he coming straight home with friend tomorrow? ie, he won't have chance to see it before he arrives back? I would tidy his room, make it spotless. But change his duvet and curtains for some pink floral affair that I have no doubt your local charity shop will have in stock. And put some fairy lights around his headboard, and tuck his favourite teddy bear under the duvet, head on pillow. He won't ask again.

Why would you do something so mean?

Why would you do something so mean?

Because if you go back and read the title this is a light-hearted post, that's why.
