WIBU to send DD to nursery?

DD is 17 months old and a really bad sleeper but tonight has been particularly bad.

She went to bed at 9, got up at 11 and went back to sleep at 1 and woke up again at 3 and has been off and on sleep until now where I think she's finally settled but I have to wake her up in an hour and half to get her and her brother to nursery.

She isn't unwell or anything, she's been playing and laughing etc so no illness just restless tonight.

She loves going to Nursery and they will let her sleep and much as she needs to and I'm available today to pick her up if needs be but I'm bloody tired.

Should I send her to nursery or not? I'm gonna have to wake her up anyway as I need to take her brother but unsure if I should bring her home or not.

So long as she's not ill I'd send her!

Autienotnaughtie · 13/03/2024 06:13

Definitely yes.better she has her normal routine so she hopefully sleeps better tonight

SamanthaVimes · 13/03/2024 06:13

I’d send her

Savingismisery · 13/03/2024 06:16

Send her and use the time to catch up on sleep yourself assuming you're not WFH.

DD used to do this yet still be bright eyed and bushy tailed for nursery and never took a nap there. I used to drop her in looking like a zombie while she was hopping around next to me pretending to be a rabbit. She’ll be fine.

Send her.

IDontDrinkTea · 13/03/2024 06:24

I’d send her. And I’d speak to them so they don’t let her “sleep as much as they like” in the day time, otherwise she won’t be tired to sleep at night time

ShadowBeam · 13/03/2024 06:30

Thank you everyone, I'll send her.

Sorry I didn't mean as much as she likes, I meant they'll let her nap but within reason (sorry, tired haha) I just meant she'll be able to have a nap so she's not distressed or unsettled all day.

Absolutely agree. Ask them to limit nap time to an hour or similar otherwise dd will be up all night again.

Don't just send her but ask them to stick to her normal nap times as far as possible.....especially this afternoon.
