How much is reasonable for overnight childcare?

This is more so I don't end up on AIBU as the employer! We have booked a nanny to stay with our primary aged child for 3 nights while we are both gone on different business trips that can't be avoided. Only this nanny has t done overnights before and doesn't know how much to charge. Any ideas?

Basically she is going to be solely responsible for the children for 17 hours each day. At the new rate of national minimum wage that would be just under £200 per day. I think you are probably in the right ball park of around £250

will the kids be awake or asleep
How old are they?
I would think around £100 per night if the kids are older and no wakings likely is acceptable

Why would you think it acceptable for anyone to be paid less than minimum wage. It doesn't matter if she will probably spend it sleeping. £100 is an insult.

Hourly rate?
Which would be the norm for a carers role doing sleepover shifts.

@AnotherDayAnotherDoller I don't think this is comparable to an overnight caring role and I can't find anywhere that pays per hour for 24 hour Nannies. It seems to be paid by night or 24 hour period.

Sleepover shifts in residential childcare are paid by the hour, even though you spend most of the time asleep. Just because she's asleep does not mean she shouldn't be paid for her time as she can't do anything else during that time, she must be in your home caring for your children.
