Aibu to be a little irritated in Facebook selling groups when people say ‘swap for grapes/ chocolate/ tangerines’ or something similarly small but specific. It’s low value to be fair, but it means you have to shop for the item instead of just dropping off a pound or two.
Once a —snobby— woman was very displeased I’d sourced a large bar of dairy milk in exchange for a load of unused lightbulbs as she’d expected better.
This post today is inspired by seeing an item I’d pay for, but it’s ’swap for grated mozzarella’ which means instead of walking two road it’s a trip to at least a moderately sized supermarket which may or may not have it in stock. So I’ve left it.
Does this happen in other areas? Surely people must realise it’s an unnecessary barrier to offloading stuff? Is it just a reluctance to be seen asking for money, especially low amounts? Like it’s poor or something to do?
