To be amazed people think it's ok to stand directly in front of a seated person

I have a disability, so have to sit down to watch things.

Twice in the last week alone (once at a child s football match, once at a dance rehearsal) someone has come along and stood directly in front of me, entirely blocking my view. Even though I have had a seat at the "front". Yes it's casual and informal, but there is plenty of space (and there are plenty of seats) so it just seems utterly rude to me. Am I invisible?

It's not easy for me to even move around to another chair and I just find it utterly self centered behaviour. But more so I just can't understand why when space isn't even limited and there are even plenty of empty seats

You’d be totally justified in poking or tapping them, explaining you’re disabled and asking them to move.

"You'd make a better door than a window"

Or simply "move dickhead"

I think thats what I want to understand. I haven't had the confidence to say something as I keep wondering what I am missing and if I am somehow the unreasonable one!

They are twats, sorry. Feel free to say, oi, you're blocking my view, suggest you stand behind me.

I always wonder if it's because my disability is invisible (it's neurological) but even if I wasn't disabled surely it would still be rude ?

Sometimes people are just oblivious - you need to tell them to move.

I had no choice when I took my DD to her last concert. I thought we were seated on one of the tiers. But they put us on the floor seats. Everyone in front of us stood up. If I had known that I would have asked if it was possible for us to sit somewhere else when they showed us to our seats.

DD has disabilities though not wheelchair dependant. She can stand but not for long. She has seizures I caught her twice from dropping to the floor while standing. She almost fell on a young child. So yes there should be zones where you stay seated. I wouldn't do a big concert like that with her again. She's happy enough going to our local theatre for tribute acts. Most stay seated but stand for some of the songs.
