This is child friendly?

Ireland's entry for the Eurovision says:

"There have been so many people reaching out about how their children love the song, so I wanted to make sure the video was something enjoyable and accessible for people of all ages,” they said.
“My sister and I eventually came up with this idea of making it a little more CUTESY, spooky and comedic.“

I'll post the video in a minute. They specifically say that they made the video because children loved the song.

If you think it's child friendly then pls vote that I'm being unreasonable.
Interested to hear what people think.

Mmm no! I would not say that is child friendly.

Depends on the age of the child. I doubt 5 year olds were the one reaching out to them so they'll be refering to older kids. It's obviously had some of its potential spookyness toned down to be fine for most double digit kids.

The original vision probably included more blood which seems to have been swapped for sparkly goo.

I'd say it's ok for teens, so legally children. Not sure many videos are suitable for primary aged kids! (Nor lyrics)

So Ireland will continue their losing streak for Eurovision. I was hoping to like it but it was terrible.

Child friendly is not how I would describe it. Can't imagine any of the teens I know being into this either.

That’s terrifying!!! No way is my child watching it!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 09/03/2024 10:08

weren’t Ireland worried about going bankrupt in the 90s if they had to carry on hosting it. Maybe this is intentionally a loser? I couldn’t be bothered watching the whole thing but it reminded me of Marilyn Manson. I would have thought voodoo/witchcraft was a risky choice.

It doesn't say the children "reached out" (hate that expression 🙂) but that people did, saying their children loved it. So young enough that their parents were talking on their behalf, making me think it's quite young children they mean?
