Going to see a west end show with my dd for her 5th birthday in the summer, and wanted to take her to the rainforest cafe as well- make the day really magical for her. Only I've just seen it's been closed down because it was never maintained well. Shame- I loved it as a child!

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other really exciting theme restaurants in central London which a five year old would love? Obviously, I'm not expecting the quality of food to be amazing, as you usually have to sacrifice that for a bit of a theme- but anyone know of anything which would seem exciting?

If plants are popular, maybe a trip to the greenhouse in the Barbican? They only have a little cafe inside but it is wonderful.

Isn't there a musical theatre cafe now with waiters performing songs etc- looks fab

My two (3 & 5) love the theatre cafe.

Food is on a par with the old rainforest cafe and is similarly priced I think. You don't go for the food but more the gimmick of the waiting staff singing. Lots of kid friendly food though.

It's worth a visit

Hardrock cafe?

Second all of these...just fun atmosphere rather than for the food. Bubba Gump is good too

Paddington afternoon tea on a double decker bus.

These are all amazing thank you so much! If we don't do them on the day, I'm definitely going to try and do a few trips each year to London to do one of these each time with her!

We're going to see Matilda! Haven't decided on a date yet, but we absolutely love singing the songs together and really want to see the show whilst it's still on.

Didn't realise the transport museum was so close to some of the theatres- she'd love that also!

I've been trying to find a cat cafe which allows younger children in- but to no avail! There's TWO where we live, but DD isn't old enough to go into either of these. Which is a shame, as this is the age she would find the most delight in it!

Even the things which are a bit older for her- like cooking your own food and hard rock cafe, we can probably do in a year or two!
