What do I do about Mum

My elderly DM has hurt her back.Cant move and slept on sofa.
I've told work I need to get help for her today as all my siblings are too far away or tied up.
DM has had lots of serious life limiting illness. So I don't know if this is normal injury or something else.I can't leave her without food or access to her huge amount of meds.
I know this is an emergency situation today but where do I stand with work.
TIA

Gosh I'm sorry that's awful.

I think my work would class this as carers leave and possibly let me take the day paid as it's an emergency? If not, any annual leave left you could use?

Worst case they could ask you to take the day off unpaid? Either way, you have to go to your DM you can't leave her so work will have to understand.

Sorry to hear about your mum. My DH had some emergency situations with FIL in the year before he died. His company has a policy of compassionate leave, so he was able to use some of that - does yours have the same? Also it sounds like your mum would benefit from more help generally. Could you contact a carers agency and organise for paid care - someone popping in once a day to help? Or look at local adverts.

Thank you.
I don't care if it's unpaid tbh.She is on her 80s I would feel guilty leaving her stuck.

Hi they should give you carers/emergency leave or let you take annual/unpaid if not.
if she can’t move and you don’t know why she needs to be seen probably by urgent care or at least her GP
good luck x

Toblerbone good advice.
We are a large family yet with work we get occasional times where no one is around.
I'm new to this as previously DM and df had each other with both having cancer and muddled through.Df has died now a few yrs ago.

Honestly OP I would strongly advise you to look into the options available for paid help. It's very stressful trying to do it all yourself.

I think we're being sent to hospital.
She didn't make to loo in the night has abdo and back pain.
She had stage 4 primary peritoneal cancer before.I guess it's returned.
