AIBU to think there's nothing I can do?

On holiday in Spain just now, leaving at 5am on Wednesday so 1 day left. I've just noticed that DS (3) has managed to get a BIG blue ink stain on the full length, lined, sand coloured curtains that cover the full wall (2 large sliding doors). Am I right in thinking I've no way of fixing this? If anyone has any ideas then please do share!

I'm guessing they'd have spotted the whacking great stain beforehand

I agree. Just tell them. No point going shopping for chemicals and most of the ideas here are doomed to failure.

I have got pen out with nail varnish remover..Simple enough to get on holidays

Thanks for all the suggestions. We've just decided to leave it. We're going to checkout tomorrow and say nothing. If they get in touch then we'll deal with it then.

I can't believe people are suggesting milk and stain remover when in real life 99% of people would do this!

If you tell them they more are likely to be able to get it out before it sets in with the sunlight and probably will say not to worry about it. Personally would feel guilty not confessing.

Am I the only one that would leave the curtains open, pushed all the way back and say nothing 😂

Another vote for this. This is one of those times when real life and MN don’t add up, I’d just open the curtains all the way and not say anything.

If it's a hotel I'd just leave it. If an Airbnb or similar I'd maybe try taking it to a dry cleaners type place and see if they could help

If it’s a biro stain, hairspray is brilliant for getting it out.

Apparently shaving foam works to remove pen from carpet..... (Saw it on a DIY programme but haven't tried it myself - oh and the 'hat guy' on Repair Shop uses it too on fabrics he can't soak in water.....)
