To want to do nothing on Mothers Day?

As in I don't want to plan or think about it? I'm happy to have a meal out, but I don't want to pick the place we go or make a booking. I don't want to pack the kids bag, make sure they have something to keep them entertained. I don't want to get anyone else ready apart from myself.

DH is very good with doing his share, he works long hours but still does a lot of school pick ups/drop offs on his days off, he also does half if not more than half of the housework. But I do more of the mental load. Planning, birthdays, events, holidays, the kids clubs, hobbies and clubs. Getting us up and ready at the weekends. Planning days out. Packing the bag with drinks, snacks, spare clothes falls to me.

So DH has been asking what I'd like to do for a little while, and I've text him this morning with a politer version of the above. I honestly don't care if we have a walk to the park and fish and chips on the seafront is fine by me, I don't need a great song and dance. I just don't want to plan it!!!!

YANBU at all, and you've communicated it, so... fingers crossed! I'd just be prepared for there being no snacks etc 😂

I don’t want to be a mum on Mother’s Day. The best gift for me right now would be the day off!
