To claim on my car insurance?

Good evening,
just after a bit of advice, I had a new car about 2 weeks ago it’s a Range Rover evoque and totally in love with it.

This afternoon I’ve been to an inflatable play area with my children, come back out to my car and my whole one side has been keyed!!! From the rear quarter all the way to the front door on the passenger side.
I went to the security office to see if they had seen anything or had any cctv of the incident but unfortunately they didn’t!

Would it be unreasonable to claim off my car insurance? Or would it be better to have it done privately.
Not had to deal with any kind of insurance claims before, thanks in advance

I was rear ended by a foreign uninsured driver. My car was quite old and I didn't bother claiming on my insurance or paying for the minor repairs. I had protected no claims, but it still put my premiums up for three years. The insurance company argued that statistically if you're involved in a crash, even if it's not your fault, you're more likely to be involved in future crashes.

Yours isn't a crash, but I'm sure they'd still whack up your premiums.

I have just had some damage to my car repaired via insurance.

To decide I used a comparison site & my premium was going up by almost 40% even with my 15+ years no claims intact so actually on balance I decided to claim. The excess & the loss of no claims was significantly less then the repair and it just seemed ridiculous that I have paid for years of insurance and never claimed surely that is what it is there for

I have two cars. I claimed on the BMW for £2,000 of vandalism. However I also have to put down that claim on my Range Rover.

Its hard enough as it is to get RR insurance, and this bloody claim for another car really causes problems with the cost of insurance premiums 🤬

Id pay out and keep away from the insurance co

Hoping not much as it’s only a 2013 not brand new from the show room unfortunately 😆 took a lot of hard saving and cut backs to afford it and now I’m gutted somebody would do this

It won't matter what the year or model is, paint work is paint work, and it is quite expensive.

A few years ago, I had a bicycle pedal scratch most of the way along the bottom my Polo. My car wasn't new, several years old, but it looked awful.
It cost about £500 to have done at a body shop. I paid for it myself, no insurance claim.

Depending on how deep the scratch is, they sometimes have to buff it all back, then fill it, sand it, prime it, then paint it. The painted area can end up being quite large, more than the original size of the scratch.
