Depends on how mature the teens are

A 5 minute drive away doesn't seem unreasonable for you to go out providing kids get on. They can ring you if there is a problem.

caramac04 · 03/03/2024 16:27

I know it’s different now but at 14 I was babysitting toddlers and babies
If they get on ok and reasonably mature I think they will be fine.

LlynTegid · 03/03/2024 16:55

Seems reasonable, assuming you can be contacted.

SweetFemaleAttitude · 03/03/2024 17:01

Like a pp, when I was 14, I babysat other people's kids a fair bit of weekend evenings.

As long as they are sensible and not them siblings who fight all the time, it will be fine.

You know your kids though so go with your own gut feeling.

Rocknrollstar · 03/03/2024 17:43

You know whether your children can be trusted not to do anything silly and not to fight. If they are sensible and well behaved then it’s fine.

I left my 14yo son. For a 2 night break. Grandparents a one minute walk away, live in a small village where he knows & trusts everyone that lives around us. He was adamant that he didn’t want to stay with grandparents and would be fine with just him & the dog. All depends on your child, you know them best.
