Hate my botox.

So I had botox 2 weeks ago and I absolutely hate it. I already have hooded eyes and its made my eyes so much more hooded , pushed my eyebrows down and I look angry or miserable most the time due to it. I feel so insecure about myself I don't even want to go out! I honestly hate how it looks. I think too much might have been put in my forehead
Is there any tips to help it go away faster or am I stuck for 3 months. 😭 I'd rather forehead wrinkles than look like this..

Go back to your therapist, they should be able to sort that (if they’re decent - find a decent one if not)

Had the same thing at about the 2 week mark then it lifted and looked fine . It does seem to take time to “settle in” You should have a follow up appointment at this point anyway so go back for a discussion . X

Most reputable places will "under treat" and offer a two week follow-up appointment to top up if needed. It sounds like too much Botox or Botox injected in the wrong place.

You could go back but I would be very wary about them injecting more Botox.

The droopiness will wear off before the next treatment so you shouldn't have to put up with it for too long.

I would examine the qualifications and experience of anyone doing injectables, some of the things that go wrong cannot be reversed, luckily an unsatisfactory effect isn't one of them.

I'm sorry, this must be so distressing!

Generally treating the forehead actually lifts the brows slightly so I'm not sure what they've done but it sounds like it hasn't been properly placed to me.

Not to minimize your upset but just to say that we are much more sensitive to changes in our appearance than others tend to be.

I would go to a different practitioner for a consult and have them review it, and make a good recommendation - not just for whether there is anything to be done except to wait, but also what they would do differently next time.

In fact I'd probably go to a couple of different people, and make sure they are all highly qualified and with 5-10 years' experience.

I don’t think you can do anything but let it wear off. Get a fringe and wear some very bright lipstick to detract?

Lion400 · 29/02/2024 13:44

Don’t ever go back to this person again. You have to wait it out. Will go eventually. That’s a bonus, imagine if it wasn’t reversible! Fringe? Change hair colour slightly? To take your focus off it maybe?

sophi1995 · 29/02/2024 13:44

It won't stay like this for 3 months. I don't love the way it looks on me between the 2-4 week period after getting it done but it really softens after that.

NCforNLCS · 29/02/2024 13:45

I had it once and it made me look quizzical. Never again.

Thank God it wears off.

haveyougotamin · 29/02/2024 13:49

Sounds like she used too much. Is she medically trained?

I've had similar and I felt I couldn't move my face. She wasn't medically trained. The silver lining was I didn't need any more for about 9 months 😂 I remember she would inject loads in a few sites even when I asked her to go light.

Now I go to a nurse and she seems to inject in a few more sites but tiny amounts and the result is amazing.

It should feel a lot better in a few weeks and I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as it feels for you.

sophi1995 · 29/02/2024 13:51

I already have hooded eyes and its made my eyes so much more hooded

I also have naturally hooded eyes so I have to go for a very low dose in the forehead (4 units) to avoid getting a heavy brow. I like the lower dose anyway because I like to keep a bit of movement. It means I have to get it done more often because it wears off faster but it's worth it for a natural look.

Alchemistress · 29/02/2024 13:51

I only ever had this when I tried to do it on the cheap

Once I started going to a Doctor to have it done the price was almost double but the results were completely different.

EmilyTjP · 29/02/2024 13:54

I usually have this in the first few weeks after, to the point I’ve cried and said what have I done to my face! Then it lifts and I love it. So hang in there.

Mallani · 29/02/2024 14:24

Don't go back to the person again. I've had it from two practitioners - a local nurse and a celebrity doctor. I have hooded eyes - my nurse always commented on this and said she'd keep treatment light around the edge of my forehead to compensate. It looked great. Celeb doctor did something else and now the outside of my brows look heavier than ususal. He did some great fillers, but I won't be going back for botox to him again.

Mallani · 29/02/2024 14:25

Note - I was treated in early December and it's now stating to lift as the botox wears off.

ThankGoditsChristmas · 29/02/2024 16:20

It will get better and it'll start to ease sooner than 3-6 months. I have hooded eyes a the first injector I went to (Dr) refused to Botox my forehead. The second injector happily does my forehead and I've never had an issue. I tried a local nurse for a while and it was a disaster. First the Botox wore off after 5 weeks. Next time she used loads and I had droopy eyelids. She couldn't do anything and it didn't look so bad after a month/6 weeks. She also used to charge random amounts varying by hundreds in price! I won't go there again obviously.
It will get better and don't let it out you off because the right injector won't cause this effect.
