Please help me I’m really drowning in getting family meals ready, I’ve tried looking online for freezable dinners but I’m feeling so overwhelmed. I need to make some simple dinners that I can freeze and quickly pop into microwave for weekdays. What are your favourites? How do you cook them from frozen (do I need to defrost First or put straight in microwave?)

Our go tos are
Bolognese
Chilli
Curries, various
Stew
Casseroles
Soups
Pasta sauces, aribiata etc
Meatballs

I don't like potato frozen much tbh so mostly avoided. But all of the above i just take out night before or the morning. Reheat in pan, then the side, rice etc

Bolognese (boil pasta in a few minutes)
Chilli (same for rice)
Lasagne, portion it up to freeze, serve with salad.
Curry
Soup

To be honest I freeze pretty much anything, leftovers etc.

I’ve discovered the batch lady, books are on Amazon. A couple of times a week I do one of her recipes and use one batch then and freeze another, I then have 2 meals for the following week ready.

You can also batch prepare and then freeze. eg. I batch prepare fajitas. Chop the chicken, throw in the onions and peppers, and freeze in single portions. I take out however many I need in the morning and cook in the evening.

I also batch cook bolognese and shepherd's pie bottom. If you flatten the bags after putting the portion in, they stack well and defrost quickly.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I feel like such a failure I can’t even get a meal ready in time for the family. Thank you for the book suggestion I’ll have a look now

i don’t have any other suggestions to the above except I freeze a Tupperware of grated parmasan and you can sprinkle straight on any cooking

also there are some fabulous cooking courses if you have the means/time - I did one a few years ago and it made such a difference for me in general

Chilli, curry, lasagne, ragu sauce. I make a big batch of katsu sauce, freeze in portions, and then use with whatever veg we have. I prefer to defrost and reheat in a pan rather than microwave, just get it out in the morning.

Anything with mince freezes really well. I batch cook bolognese and cheese sauce then either have the bolognese with spaghetti or make up a lasagna.

Leftover meat from roast dinners freezes well too - I warm it up in the oven with a few drops of water and covered in foil then bung in part baked baguettes (cooked from frozen) for a quick midweek meal.

Shepherds pie, I could live off that quite happily.
Make a bolognese sauce and you can have that with loads of stuff, bolognese on jackets is beaut. You could put it on chips with cheese on top as like loaded fries. With pasta ovbs. With mash and yorkshires. Just with crusty bread like a soup.... I like bolognese 😂 if you make it packed with finely chopped veg then you don't have to worry about what you serve it with.

Curry
Stew

Have you tried cook? I always have a few in my freezer for those days I just can't muster up the energy!
