Uni screwed up nurses degree

My daughters university has miscalculated her placement hours from her nurses degree, she qualified in 2022and has been working as a nurse since then.
She is now expected to make these placement hours along side working full time, she works such long hours as it is and is always knackered and now has to make up a further 77 hours.
It is not just her it is everyone that has qualified that year and possibly previous years as well.
Am i wrong in thinking that they should just let this go and there is no point in doing these placement hours now.

This is just batshit isn’t it. She’s already been working for TWO YEARS as a registered nurse!! Honestly the NMC makes me despair sometimes

The same university OP’s daughter went to then? That’s crazy. Someone has ballsed up haven’t they? 300 hours, so that’s over 7 weeks?

How can people do it now when they have financial commitments and cannot take unpaid time off to cover this? Plus they’re only going to be doing ‘student’ work, so they will be supernumerary and have to have traipse around with a qualified nurse.

I imagine the university will be paying out a fair bit of compensation so that might cover some of the financial commitments.

Surely time worked now can be added with some for of supervision to tick off / work the hours alongside the job (double count). I know nothing about nursing degrees but I know other courses take equivalent work place experience as credits towards a degree (albeit not the same as mandated hours surely it isn’t a huge reach in this unique circumstance..?)

what a horrid situation to be in

It doesn’t seem safe for patients nor for your daughter’s health to make her work these extra hours in addition to working full time.
