A friend told me about a job going that would suit my situation with my young Dd perfectly, it’s a step down qualifications wise, but I’m looking less stressful position with part time hours and school holidays off. I emailed the address she gave me, the lady replied and cc’d another lady in charge of admissions and I forwarded the email. This was early Monday morning. I haven’t received a reply yet (I didn’t include a cv yet) would you send a follow up email or just wait?

Definitely wait a couple of days. Then if no reply follow up with a gentle prompt with your CV. Some places make you do forms only but the CV can't do any harm. Seeing as it's a bit speculative and not an official job advert, I think you might need to wait a bit longer as they may not even be fully ready to recruit this role yet. They may need for it to open up to the public before they can move your application forward.

They might need to advertise externally?

Give them a week and gently follow up then.
There might be an official way of applying and they can’t step out of that routine?
Meanwhile, research and research the company so you know as much about it as any member of staff they already employ. Drop facts into your interview convo.
I hope it works out well for you. Good luck.

I'd send the CV tomorrow morning myself, with a very short cover note. However, you may still have to fill in their recuitment form and/or upload the CV somewhere. It depends how they do their recruiting.
