What would you think if someone kept saying this

Every morning on the school run I get talking to a man (single parent, as am I) with a DS in the same year. He always asks my DD what she’s had for her breakfast and then when she answers he says he’s coming to breakfast at our house. He says it most mornings. What would you think?

That he needs to come up with a new line!

ShutterNutBosh · 28/02/2024 09:25

I'd say he's clumsily trying to be friendly and complimenting your breakfast choices.

YouTulip · 28/02/2024 09:26

I would think he was horrifically socially clumsy or plain clueless not to grasp that this would be annoying if said on a daily basis.

Midnlghtrain · 28/02/2024 09:26

Is she having something delicious sounding? Pancakes and fruit? Cinnamon rolls? A full fry up? Bacon sandwiches?

I'd find it odd if it was something like cereal 😂

GalileoHumpkins · 28/02/2024 09:27

I'd think he was just trying to make small talk. It's quite common amongst human beings.

OssieShowman · 28/02/2024 09:28

I think it’s a pick up line.

Caramelmacchiato99 · 28/02/2024 09:29

@Midnlghtrain just toast or crumpets mainly, sometimes with fruit 😂

He's chatting you up plus he's not very imaginative

Mothership4two · 28/02/2024 09:36

He could be chatting you up or he could feel awkward in social situations and not know what to say - or both of course!

Ponoka7 · 28/02/2024 09:39

As said it's either the only thing he can connect/have something in common to talk about, or he is after an offer for coffee.

SaltySoo · 28/02/2024 09:40

What do you say or do?
