Tight tank/septic tank woes

Anyone else? It’s just so fucking depressing. This shit should work, not flood

nb this is a very niche problem for those who haven’t a clue what I’m on about. If you don’t know, thank you lucky stars you are on mains drains

I can't share experiences as we don't have one but certainly can sympathise as it sounds dreadful. I didn't want to leave you hanging. Hope it gets sorted. Hard work for you I'm sure.

I feel your pain took us years to get ours sorted. Had to buy a whole new system and even then parts weren’t installed correctly. Its sorted now but not an easy process.

We have a sewage treatment plant. Put in new 18months ago and only in use for 15months. 6 person tank but there is only 2 of us. Supposed to need annual emptying at full capacity but the bastarding thing stinks already so suspect it needs to be emptied after only 15 months. Was expecting to get 2.5-3 years between empties.

Honestly I would never have bought a house which wasn't on mains had I known the headache it would be.

We had years of flooding and emergency empties, then got a new tank which was great until this winter.

Now it seems that the pipework to the tank is cracked and letting in ground water. When it rains heavily it floods. Its just so unmanageable at the moment.

Waiting for the pipes to be replaced and then just praying it will be all sorted and I never have to think about the bloody thing ever again!
