To wear a puffa jacket in 16 degrees?

I'm taking a short break and the weather is set to be 14-16 degrees with one day of rain,
DM says it's silly to wear a black puffer as it will be warm.

Outside of this my other coats are not waterproof I have a long black wool coat or a thin mac style coat - do you think these will be more suitable if the black puffer which is of course waterproof with a hood.

The puffer is also not the most stylish and very casual can't really be day to night and I only have the luxury of hand luggage sadly!

Depends how windy it will be and how much time you're spending outside. Is it a city break or country?

Ive the same conundrum , a weekend break and only hand luggage, and my coat is going to be too heavy and warm

Luckily its a sightseeing break so Im wearing my light padded hooded jacket and putting a pac a mac over the top for the rain protection

Not ultra stylish but it will keep me dry and the lighter weight jacket will be fine for evenings

It's a city break

I'd do the thin mac as long as it's waterproof and maybe some thicker jumpers.

I would but I’m in Perth so 16 degrees is rather cool to me. However, your jacket with a long sleeved tee and a scarf would take less space than a lot of other options so it’s worth thinking about your layers.

You get to decide what your microclimate finds comfortable, not dh.

Will you get too warm in it if you're walking round all day? Or is it the sort of thing you'd wear for a day out here?

I wouldn't worry about standing out where you're going though, I've just come back from Seville and all the locals were wearing puffas/scarves and it was 22 degrees!

I went away in November in a big puffa coat and nearly died of heatstroke. Ended up wearing DH's old rain Mac he keeps in the car boot and looking super glam so no, I don't recommend it.

I'm be decided to go for the mac and hope for the best!

If I get cold I'll have to buy a fleece or something 🤣
