To ask how you make your night feeds?

I already have a TT prep machine downstairs for the daytime feeds but just wondering how is best at night. With my first we were going up and down stairs to use the machine during the night, which I really don't want to do this time.

I can't think of the best way to do night feeds this time around. I feel like I've forgotten how to look after a newborn!

Am I best getting something like a Nuby Rapid Cool?

I done a bit of a DIY prep machine job. Flask of hot water and bottle of cooled boiled water and done a 'hot shot' like the machine does then topped it up. Had it all on my bedside table so didn't have to go far.

That or alternatively some ready made feeds with a bottle warmer in your bedroom? Though you'd be waiting a few minutes on that heating up.

I used to bring a flask of hot water and Nuby rapid cool (you need to clean them after each use so I bought 2) to bed each night. It was a total faff trying to measure everything out on the bedside table in the middle of the night and after a while I ended up just going downstairs to use the prep machine.

If I had another, I’d just buy a second prep machine for the bedroom.

If you do decide to go down the Nuby route, don’t bother with the flask that comes in the bundle, it barely keeps the water hot for a few hours! Get a thermos flask or similar.

Just take the prep machine upstairs for the night?

takealettermsjones · 20/02/2024 23:10

Bring the perfect prep machine to bed with you.

I suppose I could just take the prep machine up but it seems an effort moving it every night to be honest 😅 probably will end up doing though, unless I can find a decent cheap second hand one!

They are usually in abundance for pennies on marketplace but I’d probably be wary picking one of these up second hand, there’s no way of knowing if the previous owner kept on top of cleaning maintenance.

You can get an older style one for about 70 quid. Not the cheapest but for less hassle when sleep is scarce, worth it IMO.
