To take council house or private rent?

Recently split up with DH and I have been lucky enough to be offered a council property. It is a new build and it’s absolutely tiny I don’t know I can live there with 3 children. By time I put wardrobes and drawers in the room they will be a small bit of floor space.

The living room is absolutely shocking! It will just be a sofa and TV as there is no space for a coffee table or any little cupboards.
its £600 a month

The private rented property is with a company so I will still have stability. It Has lots of space and a utility and storage something the council property doesn’t.
Its £960 a month but I understand I will receive some housing support.

Can someone help me as i decided to move out i am living in London atm .my kids are getting older so they need space as i only have 1 bedroom .i am living with family and paying half rent which is 300 or so .
I am applying for council home and its stressing me out that how much rent i will have to pay .we are 4 people me my husband 2 boys.
Any advice please

Might be worth doing your own thread or people will just reply to the OP. However, the chances of you getting a council house in London are slim to none. You may have to move out of it

I also think you'd be nuts to take the private rent. You would have zero chance of saving for a mortgage. If you'd need to rely on a UC top up to cover rent.
