What do you do with your dc on days off?

I've moved to part time working and have 2 days off a week now plus the weekend. I have a toddler and a child in school.

Feel like we still need some routine in our lives (although I do anticipate one of these days being to catch up on housework and shopping etc). I wondered what your days off look like with kids? We sometimes go for a cafe lunch together or shopping and to the library but it doesn't feel structured.

I'd like a class or a playgroup to go to but there are a woeful amount locally to me and none I'm aware of on my days off.

Please give me some inspiration! I find it so much easier being out of the house but I'm running out of ideas. Already dreading school holidays...

Also stay at home parents, who have to think up things to do everyday. How?!

It's hard but take to shops, park if dry, play games with them and let them do what they like - possibly a painting session along with ball playing. Along with the housework the day will have soon flown by

Mine are both in school now but when they were younger and I was part time I didn’t bother to structure days at home I just pottered about doing whatever was needed like going to the shops etc, with a stop at the park or a cafe. Some days they would be more willing to sit and chill so we would watch a film, others they were hyper so it was into the garden and on the trampoline for a bit or go out on scooters. I would just take each day as it came and didn’t really plan.

I have a preschooler and have 2 days off in the week. On one day we do a music class then swimming in the morning, bring a lunch out with us then either soft play or playground depending on weather. The other day we don't have any classes but we have an exploring day doing different things every week in London - the museums, concerts, galleries, big parks, farms, tourist stuff. It's nice being able to visit places without the weekend crowds.

I wish we lived somewhere where there was more going on. It's quite quiet and rural. A short drive in to town but there's not much there either. We do the museum, farm park etc now and then but once you've been once it's quite samey.
