To think there should be a way to report someone who shouldn't be driving on medical grounds...

without needing their driving license number?

I know someone who has been having seizures for the last 2 years and openly says on FB they've been advised not to drive. They still drive most days, and not just in a car but in a much larger vehicle. They also drive after taking recreational drugs.

I reported them to the DVLA via the online form. I provided their full name, date of birth, the village they live in, their vehicle reg number (which I know from seeing photos of it on FB) and screenshots of FB posts saying they've been told not to drive and about their seizures.

The DVLA sent me an email 2 weeks later saying that they wouldn't be able to follow it up without their driving license number! As if I can send that in?!

Is there really no other avenue I can take here? They absolutely shouldn't be on the road, they post on FB every couple of months about having a major seizure FFS!

I suspect this is due to them not having updated their details with the DVLA or something because if they need the licence number then this would surely be on the online form.

Yes you can report to police

Contact the police? When one of our neighbours was unfit to drive (although in his case it was not deliberate- he became ill and didn't know what he was doing) we contacted the police who came out and took his keys.

I seem to be VERY snarky today, would be tempted to respond to the DVLA, 'that's fine, when they do eventually kill someone I will let the police and media that despite all the identifying information I passed on you could do nothing'
I'd also be tempted to post this on their FB next time they post about having a seizure https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/courts/man-with-epilepsy-gets-seven-years-for-causing-deaths-of-infant-sisters-1.1726148

Man with epilepsy gets seven years for causing deaths of infant sisters

Kate and Grace Gilmore were out for a stroll with their father when their twin buggy was hit head-on

I'd contact 101. The use of recreational drugs they will be interested in for one. A registration number would allow an alert to be placed on the car and it would ping on anpr cameras etc.

Put it simply you could save theirs or someone else's life

I've never done this, so don't know how well it works, but what about contacting Crimestoppers? They are supposed to take information from people anonymously and they pass it on to the police.

The form did ask for the license number, but I just wrote that I didn't have it in the box...

I once reported / identified three people who the police were "searching" for for a violent crime. They were on the site from video, clear faces. I have them the names and addresses of each of the three people. Apparently that wasn't enough to assist their search briar they were never even visited, never mind arrested.
