Face twitching and numb

My left side of face is twitching and numb, and very tender. It’s happened several times in the last few weeks - hit again now and been going for two hours.

I called the surgery and the first appointment they can give me is in May. Obviously I can call back 8am on Monday for same day, but I’m terrified I’m going to keel over before then. No other new symptoms but a host of long term health issues mostly gut and joint related.

YANBU - you need to be seen before Monday
YABU - it can wait

I have a similar issue and have just been diagnosed with fibromaylgia.

Interesting- I have a lot of joint pain (hypermobility syndrome) but not tenderness at the spots for fibromyalgia

? Trigeminal neuralgia, any pain or dribbling, if you can't see a doctor can you see a dentist?

I'd also suggest it could be trigeminal neuralgia. I'd definitely push for a more urgent appointment with your GP, and if you get any further symptoms I'd consider calling 111. Not to panic you, and I'm not suggesting you will keel over as you are concerned about, but any new nerve issue needs investigating before May.

No dribbling, the area is tender though, not majorly painful

This is going to sound a bit strange, but if you have any calcium based antacids, try eating a couple. It won’t hurt you and if it’s low calcium levels it will help.

it probably isn’t low calcium, but that is one of my symptoms when my calcium is low. I have surgical induced hypocalcemia though, so an unlikely cause for a random person.

That is weird but I switched to a dairy free diet a couple months back so not impossible. My nails haven’t been right so worth a shot

Well fell asleep and it’s not much better. Stuck for what to do now.
