about your husband/wife/partner that make you get the warm, fuzzy glow? Or things they do for you that just make you feel safe and loved?

There's always loads of threads about horrible partners but I'm feeling the love on Valentine's Day so thought a nice thread would make for good morning reading 😊

I'll start, together 4.5 years, married 7 months.

He brings me a coffee every morning.
He is always optimistic and sees the good in everything and everyone.
He works hard in the NHS and was incredible throughout Covid.
He's loved my children like his own from the day he met them.
His sense of humour and love of Dad jokes is insatiable.
He can't dance but always goes for it anyway.
He sings, quite well actually but will only do it for me and not in public.
He builds me up when I have no confidence.

Your turn please?
P.S The Daily Mail are wankers 😬

lol, I started a thread like this when I started and it went down like a lead balloon... let's hope this gains more traction.

I admire my wife's passion. She's extremely good at what she does, and hearing hearing her in meetings is like a force of nature. I truly believe she could do anything she puts her mind to, and i get that 'warm, fuzzy feeling' just watching her in action.

Oh no really? Maybe the vipers nest was the wrong place for me to post then!

Sounds like your wife is very passionate about what she does.

My lovely fiancé sends me back to bed if he's up first, brings me up a cup of tea. Is the kindest person I know, so supportive and makes me laugh every day. I can be completely myself, knowing I am loved deeply and totally accepted for who I am. He's emotionally available. He's an absolute keeper but took me till I was 55 to find him!

Pocoyoismyhomeboy · 14/02/2024 07:43

My DH stays home all day with the kids and works at night so I can work during the day.

He tells me I'm beautiful constantly, even when I look like a pile of rubbish.

When we're not together, he texts me to tell me he loves me.

He makes all the cups of tea.

He cooks all the dinners.

He js showing our children what a good husband and father looks like. He showers me and our children with love.

Hoglet70 · 14/02/2024 07:44

My DH is a much nicer person than me, he looks after us all and makes me laugh and is my best mate and partner in crime. Yeah, he does stuff that annoys me but I wouldn't swap him. He's just bought me coffee in bed so I'm very fond of him at this precise moment lol.

This is a nice thread. Not all men are twats.

midgetastic · 14/02/2024 07:45

Tea or coffee in bed seems a common feature . He's snoring again but he brought me tea when my alarm went off

Containerhome · 14/02/2024 07:46

My dh recognises how bloody hard I work. (As does he) I don't like receiving gifts etc as I am shy about receiving them and just think money can be spent on other things, especially with 4 kids.

But, he always tells me how hard I work, we work, and we thank each other and reaffirm our gratitude to each other. He also tells others people how much I do etc and I like that. I feel appreciated.

mambojambodothetango · 14/02/2024 07:50

The best thing about my DH is his absolute conviction that this is what he wants. I had a previous long term boyfriend who wavered and it was exhausting. DH is solid as a rock and that is what i need.

MamaToABeautifulBoy · 14/02/2024 07:59

My DH is incredible. He’s flying high in his career but won’t take a promotion if it means being away from home too much. His favourite thing to do is be with his family. He loves us all so deeply. He does so much for me. He leaves me love notes when he goes out, constantly tells me how much he loves me. Seeing him with our son and how much he adores him is just the most heartwarming thing. He makes me feel like the most beautiful woman on earth and most importantly, loves me for me and accepts me for who I am, the good and the bad. He’s just a good man who I quite frankly, worship!

love this thread. It’s important to note that despite what many on Mumsnet might purport, a lot of men are decent, loving human beings. I’m hoping my little boy grows into one.

WizardinTraining · 14/02/2024 08:39

My other half is a genuinely good person who thinks I’m the best thing ever despite evidence to the contrary 😂 He’s kind, funny and thoughtful and would do literally anything for me, he makes me feel so special and just gets me. It took me years to find him but I feel so lucky - we met on Tinder so there’s hope for anyone disillusioned with OLD.

JubileeJumps · 14/02/2024 08:44

When my best friend died unexpectedly and there was a train strike and I was alone at the hospital he got a train as far as he could then ran the rest of the way to get to me.
He never gets me flowers always forgets anniversaries but when I needed him he got to me and that is worth everything.

That's what I was aiming for, a nice appreciation thread for all the partners who are good to their other halves Smile

My DH is the best person I know. We have a newborn and he’s done all the night feeds so far so I can rest and recover from the birth. He really looks after me and is a great dad and partner.

Cheeseflakes · 14/02/2024 08:57

My husband literally rescued me from self-destruction. I love him to bits and our first baby is due in May.

I’ve added things to these threads before but today I’m in a foul mood and can’t see the good in anyone so I’m not joining in on this occasion 😂

Disneydatknee88 · 14/02/2024 09:25

My DH always makes me feel appreciated. He still says thank you for dinner every night, even if what I've made was horrible! He asks me if he can go to the pub or to visit friends for the weekend even though in our 12 years together I've never once objected. It's just nice that he considers me when making plans.

He's a wonderful father. He will take our DD out just the two of them on a sat/Sunday for a few hours to give me some alone time. We do things together obviously but I appreciate that a lot.

He helps around the house without making a fuss and takes care of "the man jobs" that I genuinly cannot figure out how to do (like spending hours putting together furniture and then taking it apart again and back together when I wanted it in another room cos I'm a bloody nightmare). He's just wonderful, honestly. I don't know how or why he puts up with me but I am so so grateful to have him.

Chelsea26 · 14/02/2024 09:59

Mine is lovely too! He has many good qualities, kind, funny, reliable and capable; and he does lots of nice things for me, but the best thing he does is, if I mention something in passing that I’d like to do/try/have/go to, it’s booked/ordered/ arranged within days.

Big things and little things - the most recent was when we were on a long drive and I said the only thing I missed about my old car (which I traded in for a less flash one that could fit all of our kids in) was that it had a cup holder by the steering wheel rather than in the central bit between the seats. The next day a cup holder that fits onto the vents in the car arrived and I smile every time I see it!

Lovely thread! My husband never fails to be there for me, we have been together a long time. He's kind, he's funny and quite sexy! We can chat for hours and have lots in common and laugh together. Yes, we irritate each other on and off but I can't imagine my life without him. X

MarnieMarnie · 14/02/2024 12:46

My partner is pretty amazing. He's my biggest fan but he isn't afraid to tell me if I'm being a twat. I've never felt as comfortable being me as I do with him. He loves my daughter like his own, and he adores my dogs who adore him right back. I'm very very lucky to have him in my life. (The sex is awesome too).

InMySpareTime · 14/02/2024 12:49

I am very indecisive when it comes to cake, DH buys both the cakes I want and cuts them in half so we can have some of both cakes (and he always lets me have the combo with the best topping distribution)
He literally steps in when any unwanted huggers approach me and takes the hug for me.
He is my best advocate, especially when my fatigue is too bad for me to advocate for myself. He'll see the signs that it's getting too much and offer to drive me home.
When we share nachos he gives me the King Nacho with all the cheese.

ScottyDoesntKnow · 14/02/2024 12:51

He surprises me with little presents randomly - a LEGO set, my favourite chocolates, new mug, etc.

Hugely supported and encouraged me going part-time with my work to help some of my mental health issues despite it putting more pressure on him financially.

Generally everything he does, he thinks of me, will offer a lift home from work if it’s raining, a chamomile tea if he sees me yawning. We have the most fun together, I just can’t think of anything I’d prefer to do than hang out with him doing literally anything.

JustFrustrated · 14/02/2024 12:52

Him. He makes me warm and fuzzy even when he's being a git.

He's helpful, to everyone.
He's a force of nature at work.
The way he has with our girls is amazing.
He carries period products in his car, without my asking, just because "I have women in my life" and he's seen all of us get caught at one point or another.
He would stop the world for me if he could.

But he's not....sickeningly sweet, or vapid. He's smart and funny and quick, so bloody quick. He's just decent.
