Advice needed please

My child is in her first year of a primary teaching degree at university and she has been at her placement for four weeks today she has had an email from the university advising her placement has been withdrawn and when she has asked further questions they have said it’s her lack of subject knowledge

She has set her heart on being a teacher but she has dyslexia and i have often worried she won’t be successful because of her dyslexia

How can they withdraw after 4 weeks it’s her first placement every time she has had feedback it’s been good although they have mentioned lack of subject knowledge

Her lesson yesterday wasn’t great behaviour wise but the children were on a school trip the night before and were very tired

The school haven’t even spoke to her she finished today at 3 and got the email at 4:30

Its not an AIBU but i am desperate for any advice

She has been told what the issue is. If she can address it, great. If she can't, then she probably won't get anywhere.

Also... hate to say what you already know...but whilst she'll always be your child, that isnt how employers see her! Be supportive, sympathetic, etc, but its she who needs to do some legwork - research her options, meet with tutor, etc.

The uni need will have a procedure to follow if a placement provider is not happy with a trainee. Sounds as if the uni have jumped the gun.

And as a student with a disability she will be entitled to reasonable adjustments. Does she have a need assessment and support plan?
Your DD should check her placement/course handbook and find out what the proper procedure should be (usually a meeting with all parties and an improvement plan being agreed). Then go to a tutor or course leader and ask what happened and why the correct procedure wasn't followed.
Also, talk to the disability service about reasonable adjustments.
And finally, contact the students union for support and help (our contact them first!).
I've got a lot of experience working in HE, and based only on what you've said here, it appears as if this had not been handled well, or in line with procedures I'd guess.
