Sunbed rash

before I even begin I'm sure many of you will be against sunbed usage and I agree. But I do it at my own risk and I'm well aware of the dangers.

So I'm new to sunbeds, I've done 3 sessions over two weeks, and my skin on my bum after todays session is quite hot red and rashy. If you are a sunbed user leave a comment and let me know if I should give it a break for a while or continue with my two sessions a week. I'm aware that heat rash it pretty normal bit I've not really been overdoing it. Idk maybe I just have sensitive skin.

Thanks

It's sunburn op.

Are you using spf?

Ilikedoughnuts · 06/02/2024 16:30

Yeah that's sunburn, how long are your session? Definitely stay out of the tanning beds until it has healed and use a strong SPF from now on if you're not already

idontlikealdi · 06/02/2024 16:33

Its sunburn

Goldiex · 06/02/2024 16:35

Its just quite bad sunburn. Reduce your minutes and do a stand up to avoid this while you gradually build up.

PinkyBlueMe · 06/02/2024 16:36

You might suffer from polymorphic light eruption. I do and get it in the sun or on sun beds. It can be itchy if it's that. It mostly only happens on early exposure to sun after a few months without, and once you're "hardened" that year it might not happen again until next year. I used to go on 2-3 sun beds before a holiday to get it out the way so I didn't have it on the holiday itself.

SleepingisanArt · 06/02/2024 16:59

Not Polymorphic Light Eruption - it doesn't have the right 'pattern' for that (I have emergency steroids to hand in case mine erupts and wear factor 30 in the winter on my hands and face going up to factor 50 in the summer!)

As PP have said it is sunburn and needs to be treated correctly.

PackingupTime · 06/02/2024 17:18

🤦‍♀️ just fake tan if you need to.

ADoggyDogWorld · 06/02/2024 17:23

Yeah sunburn. That is going to sting tomorrow.

Ace56 · 06/02/2024 17:26

How long have your sessions been so far? You look like you have quite fair skin so should only be around 6-7 mins atm while you build up a tolerance.

Hi,

im having the same problem but im definitely not burning. Its like heat rash only weirder lol

can anyone tell me if this looks like polymorphic light eruption? I use sunbed twice a week before going on holiday so I don’t burn. Never had this problem before, it’s calms down after about 12-24 hours then as soon as I go back on it comes back and it’s only in the same places. Shown on pictures

any advice ??

katie20202 · 26/06/2024 20:37

Sun beds are no good! Stick to fake tan
