To be scared of needing dentures at 40?

In the 3 years I have lost 8 teeth to cracking which we think is down to oestrogen suppressant medications given to me for 20 years for endometriosis.

On the left side of my face I have no molars or pre molars at all and no canine on the bottom so I eat on the right which is missing a molar and pre molar BUT

the two I eat on.. remaining molar and the canine are failing. Going to dentist tomorrow as molar filling tooth hurts and the canine is visibly cracked and painful.

Im going to be left with just 6 front teeth on the bottom.. if I want dentures I have to wait 3 months for extractions to heal.. ill need top and bottom partials which is gonna be ££££ and I won’t be able to eat at all in that time unless it’s soup.

In pain and scared. Had enough what with endo, adeno, bladder failing with IC, spinal issues and now losing my teeth too. I feel like I’m 80.

I'm sorry @Oucht . Push and push for referral. ( My poor DS had a few utis in his teens which weren't detected on tests but always responded to antibiotics so I'm sure they were bacterial infections.) Fortunately the doctors we saw were sympathetic to this ( I think perhaps they prescribed before the test results came back the first time and so we could argue the point subsequently that they had previously responded to the antibiotics.) The last time which thankfully was about five years ago now we had to go private for as our GP was having none of it. He was fine within a day or so of starting the antibiotics.... It's so painful and depressing and I really feel for you. Keep pushing for that referral! Xx

Hopefully you’re aware of new implant supported dentures and more modern techniques available.

Yes I’ve seen the implant retained dentures but I would need 3 sets and they are between 6-9k per set it’s not viable when I can’t afford a solitary implant tooth at 3k.
