I feel like I’m experiencing very low mood and having suicidal thoughts but I’m afraid they will tell my work and I’ll lose my job

They wont even know where you work unless you tell them but I would have thought patient confidentiality would prevent it.

I hope you are ok and please ring them if you need to.

I used to work for the crisis team and am now in a similar role so they will know me which worries me

They won't tell your work. I work for the NHS crisis pathway and that isn't what happens. Get yourself the help you need.

Ring 111 and press option 2. You don't have to tell anyone where you work, just get the initial help you need. Unless you are planning to put someone else's life at risk and it is to do with your work then they do not have to disclose anything to your workplace. All medical professionals have to adhere to confidentiality and consent to share information with employers, other professional services and even the police unless it poses a threat to you or someone else. Please do get the help you need.

No they won't tell your work. Get the help that you need. Your health is the most important thing. You are catatrophising.

However, if you're not already off sick, you may want to consider whether you are well enough to be working at the moment or if you need to focus on your health instead 💐

Depending on where you work - yes they will report you- they have a duty of care

tearsandtiaras · 04/02/2024 16:59

Also, depending on your home set up they will report your children to MASH to get you and the children extra support

bellalou1234 · 04/02/2024 17:01

If there is any conflict like anyone would know you, I'd speak to a different area team

tearsandtiaras · 04/02/2024 17:02

If you are in a role that is regulated / working with families, children/ vulnerable people or operating machinery / driving and you are still working in crisis then they have a duty of care.

How did it go op? I don't think the crisis team have anywhere near the power pps suggest in terms of informing others I would imagine they would contact gp if you were deemed at risk, emergency services if relevant.
Prepared to be told I'm wrong, hope I'm not

There are lots of issues around sharing that kind of information regarding gdpr and consent.

Suicidal thoughts and low mood can be a safeguarding concern, but not always. It depends on history, intention, plans, etc.

You can text SHOUT to 85258 for support 24/7
