Sorry but it's not aibu just posting for any advice!

Hi. I'm after some advice. I'm constantly getting a pulsating flash like sensation in my head, it feels like a loud pulse or the only way I can describe it is like the sound when you take multiple pictures with a camera, the sound that you hear between each one! It's there all day and is really getting me down. I went to my GP on Friday and she checked my blood pressure, pulse and even did an Ecg, all was fine.
I will add that about 10 yrs ago I suffered a SAH (sub arachnoid haemorrhage) and have 4 more treated aneurysms so you can understand my worry!
The doctor suggested it may be caused by my Blood pressure tablets and advised I stop them over the weekend but there has been no improvement. I'm just asking has anyone experienced anything similar as it's really depressing me!

Sending you a handhold and can only suggest you push for an MRI on your head.
Would it be worth pushing for an audiology appointment in case it’s to do with your inner ear!
Could it be a type of tinnitus?

It must be debilitating and worrying.
I suffer from bilateral tinnitus so I can empathise with the frustration and irritation of your suffering and hope the medics will be helpful to you.

Thank you so much for your reply and kind concern!
I've been looking up pulsatile tinnitus as it does sound similar. I'll mention this to my GP tomorrow!

Is assume you are still under a neurosurgeon with your medical history? I would ring their secretary first thing tomorrow.

Any worsening of your symptoms I'd be going to A&E immediately, truthfully with your history they will take you seriously if you go regardless.

I've decided not to go to my gp, I shall do as you suggested and ring the neurosurgeon secretary tomorrow. Thank you very much!

Did you manage to speak to someone?

Yes I went to see the GP again, he assured me that he didn't think it was anything to do with my aneurysms as it doesn't come on gradually. He said my BP was high after coming off the tablets (which made no difference anyhow) so to go back on them. He also said it could be a form of tinnitus but I can't take beta blockers due to my asthma so I'm no more forward but feel more reassured! I need to go back in a week if it doesn't settle down.
Thank you very much for your reply x

I'm a bit surprised by your GP given your medical history. I would expect them to be overly cautious just in case.

Ringing the neurosurgeon is definitely worth it. It's better overreact than underreact.
