My ds is 12 with complex sn's. School is very difficult and he has finally started doing some full days!!!

This week he did one full day and three half days!!!

I'm so proud of him. He has done so amazing and is spending more time with his friends which is incredible.

I'm a single mom and my mood hasn't been the best lately, feeling rundown but I have felt amazing this week.

My energy has been so much higher. I've gotten so much more done this week.

I feel so calm and he is so happy. 💞

I know how hard it was with healthy, NT kids and a DH who was not utterly useless at parenting. He was my partner in every way when the herd was little. I’m so proud of YOU for getting to this stage. I’m so pleased you are celebrating DS’s achievements. I do hope that you try to ignore some household chores and set aside some time to do NOTHING. (Or read, drink tea, binge watch Yellowstone, etc…) Anyhow, hats off to the amazing human being who has helped raise her DS to this point. You need celebrating also!

I am a very lucky lady. He is an extraordinary boy.

Thank you. 💞 I am sitting down with a cup of tea and a book right now.

Amazing post to read of a morning! Well done, OP. And remember even if things go wobbly, he has done a full day once so will definitely do it again and will exceed his goals with an ace mum like you.

Hope you're doing things for yourself when you can as well 😊

DinnaeFashYersel · 03/02/2024 08:27

Thats absolutely amazing, what a wonderful achievement for your DS. You must be working so hard, and i imagine feels thankless at times but you are doing a brilliant job.

That's so lovely. I truly know how much a great week like that means.

determinedtomakethiswork · 03/02/2024 09:45

It's really amazing. Can you pinpoint what it was that made him able to go to school when he couldn't previously?

Chrysanthemum5 · 03/02/2024 10:06

Brilliant @Josette77 I feel so happy for both of you. It will have taken work, patience, courage, and hope to get to this point.

Honestly? I have no clue! Lol

I do know once he did the full day he walked home with his friends and I picked up from his friends house, he seemed more keen to go.

I think walking home with his friends from middle school and taking the street car with them gave him a lot of confidence .

We've been lucky he's had the same group of friends since kindergarten. Two of their moms are my best friends too so we have this incredible support bubble.

It's made things less lonely on both of us.

One of his best friends told his mom it's been awesome ds has been going more often. 💝 I told him that and he was really happy.
