Does anyone else have GIGANTIC spiders?! It's February!

I live in fear of the summer/damp months for this reason, anytime between August and November I'm on edge constantly.

We've just moved house, it backs onto woods (silly me) and last night I was fluffing my pillows and thought I saw something black run down the back of them but put it down to tiredness/low light in bedroom just had a dim side lamp on. I laid in bed reading for an hour and then went to sleep and woke up this morning, picked my dressing gown up that was on the floor next to bed and a huge, thick spider was wrapped up in it. Which means I probably got into bed with the bastard last night and god knows how many times it's crawled across me in the night 😰

I didn't think we saw them in February 😭 I don't know why I'm posting, I'm desperate to get rid of the fear my DD is 8 months and don't want to pass it on to her ☹️ any tips or tricks to keep them out??? Get used to living with them??? (A miracle)

It could be that the move has 'unhomed' lots. We live next to a wood too and the first few weeks were hell for me as although I expected more spiders living next to a wood , I wasn't expecting the amount of big hairy thick bastards we were getting. I thought we would have to put the house back on the market 😂😂 however , after a few weeks it reduced massively and now, despite the wood next to us, I only have about four big hairy bastards per year, actually less than our small terraced we moved from!

When I moved in my house there were literally hundreds.

I worked hard at killing them all and now there are hardly any.

You just have to keep at it and be relentless at getting rid of them. I inspect the corners once a week or so to remove them.

And probably seal all the cracks that allow them to get in.

I suspect the people who sold you the house are weirdos that are happy to have eight legged freaks living in their house. You will need to evict them. It will probably take a while. The house we moved into was the same. Shudder.

When I moved into a house once it was full
of the fuckers.

We had to use a couple of these smoke bomb things as DD was in bits with the amount of big buggers she was getting.

Had a huge spider in my bedroom the other night, I thought it was unusual this time of year.

It was on the floor in the daytime, went to fetch the cat, but the spider had disappeared by the time I got back. Went to bed later on and looked all around the room, no sign, thought the cat had dealt with it. Got into bed, looked at the ceiling and there it was. Shudder.

We had a massive one on the wall in our bedroom 3 nights ago. I never even thought about the time of year but yeah actually, it does seem early for us to see one in the house.

Spider traps from Amazon. Pheromone scented glue traps. Stick one in the corners of rooms/under draws and furniture. Once you decrease the population less to breed. Spider spray outside the house under eaves and window ledges to stop them breeding by windows. Smoke bomb attics and garages

I said the exact same thing the other day, we’ve had 3 huge ones recently! I wondered if it was the mildness they are coming out of hibernation? If they even do that
