Caterham school or Royal Russel school

I tried posting this a while back on the proper board but got no responses. So here I try again.

I have a boy and a girl so I'm looking for co-ed private schools in my area that go from nursery / primary up to 18 and these are the only two I can find.

Are there others that I haven't found ? I'm new to the area.

Which school is 'better ' ?

Caterham would be considered the more selective and academic of the two at senior level.
Caterham used to be an all-boys school until it took in the pupils from a local girls' school that was closing. When we looked round for my DD 10 years ago it still had the feeling of a boys school which she didn't like, but that may have changed since then.
I don't know if either of them guarantee automatic progression through to the senior section - many schools have a way of weeding out the less academic children during the latter primary years.

I don't think either of them guarantees progression from primary to secondary.

Caterham has recently stopped doing the 11+ in its Prep. I think this means everyone goes through to the senior school now but it is not entirely clear.

Caterham is a lovely school, my daughter is another local private secondary school but we did seriously consider Caterham at 11. The grounds and sports facilities are brilliant. The kids love playing matches at Caterham. I thought the pastoral care and extra curricula options seemed excellent. We only went for the alternative due to it being similarly good and being much closer to us.

The prep doesn’t guarantee entry, but it’s internally ongoing assessed rather than a one of 11+ exam and I think about 70% normally go on to secondary school.

That's why I would prefer to send them to one of these bigger schools, so we don't have to worry as much about get 11+

In that case you could also look Reigate St Mary’s and Chinhurst who are feeder schools for Reigate Grammar School and have the same relationship as I described above re getting in there and the 11+.
