A well known mobile phone provider are making my life hell

In June 23
I wrote to them to cancel my 5 year long broadband service
Asked what to do next

Got a letter in July asking for extra money
No idea why but I paid
Wrote back said
I have paid
Now CANCEL. My membership

Jan24
Another letter
My account is in arrears
Now passed on to credit debt recovery agency

What do I do
???

I have sent maybe 8 letters now asking them to cancel mv acc with all my info included

I rang twice but they did not understand what had happened

How do I raise this????

Did you send any of the letters "signed for" or whatever it's currently called? Doesn't matter if you didn't, but always helpful when sending letters rather than emails.

Was there a cancellation procedure on their website and did you follow this? Maybe you have to cancel via a specific email address.

Generally, I believe, these types of contracts tend to be 12 or 18 months and you then renew for a similar timeframe, so had you tried to cancel early?

If you are sure you did what you needed to do and haven't been using the broadband services provided by them, then respond to the debt collection agency and tell them this is an oversight on the part of the broadband provider as you cancelled the service appropriately, and include copies of the letters to prove that you did.

Great idea

Thank you

It was 4 - 5 years after I had started the contract

I think I followed all the correct procedures

So have no idea how 7 months later they are saying I owe them money

Also , bizarrely they text my sisters mobile tonight to say I had outstanding debt

My sister?
She was not linked to this account ffs
She has a mobile acc with them but separately
