To expect visitors to have confirmed what time they are coming tomorrow ?

I think they are still coming because I checked 2 weeks ago and they said they were.

They said they were coming at some stage on Friday but is it unreasonable to expect that they would let me know when this is likely to be ? Particularly as DH is off for the first time this year and we have a 2 yr old to entertain.

If they haven't let me know by about 9.00 I'll contact them but it seems a bit pushy to do that.

Erm ... give them a call. Not pushy at all. Just tell them you want to make sure someone is home when they arrive.

kekouan · 20/03/2008 20:12

NBU, but just give them a call

Ok I will give them a call, but can't I be a teensy weensy bit annoyed about it.

Doesn't sound pushy, I would just call, if they are good enough friends for you to be having them to stay for easter then surely they can cope with you calling to find out what time they are arriving?

YANBU.

there's another thread on here about how fucking rude people are these days when it comes to parties and such.

mazzystar · 20/03/2008 20:16

not pushy in the slightest

but isn't it a lot of effort and energy wasted to be annoyed?

i mean they might be at home thinking rookie invited use over this weekend, i hope she's still expecting us.....

rookiemater · 20/03/2008 20:22

Well I haven't invested that much time and energy in being annoyed. They are good friends and I will be delighted to see them. But its always a bit of work preparing for visitors and its nice to know how many meals you need to cater for and think of things to do depending on how long you have.

I suppose its more curious as I think it is a wee bit bad manners to not let your host know when you are coming, but from this I suppose maybe I expect too much from people.
