To be pissed off at getting a bus lane fine when it isn't my car!

City I've never been to in my life, opposite end of the country, at 4.30am. The photo shows a different colour car to mine but the reg is the same. Bloody fake number plate!! What are my chances at getting this squashed?? At 4.30am on the night in question my car was tucked up asleep on my drive way about 700 miles away, which of course I can't prove! 😡😡

I had this happen to me and I phoned the police to report it. The car in question was the same colour as mine and same car but mine has a tow bar on and you can clearly see in photos that car didn't have tow bar. I got the parking fines quashed as I had a crime number to give as my reasons for non payment

Your google timeline proves where you were. Also different colour car should be enough to prove it’s not yours.

This has happened to my son. Log a police report and share it with the issuing council along with the dvla description of your car.

I know this thread is ancient now but I see this Google timeline metioned a lot on here, is it something everyone is meant to have? I don't have one as far as I know, what am I missing?
