To ask if you've had a very weird sense of smell/taste since Covid?

I had covid 2021 and 2022.

No major symptoms, never vaccinated.

I've had some very weird smell symptoms, for about 6 months after 1st time, I could only smell Camembert.

And, I mean everything smelt of it.

Fast forward, my smell is definitely still altered, to the point its unappetising.

Some smells are heightened, or so I think and can smell such as my B.O, I think is really strong and have asked people to be told no. Some things just do not taste or smell the same such as bacon, can't even enjoy it anymore. Some are lessened.

Anyone have similar?

Just covid or something else as I have seen other things it could be?

Sounds odd but toilet smells smell odd to me,even dog farts, for the last couple of years. Odd but I've no idea why...

Hmmm this is a potential light bulb for me. I'm fully vaccinated had all the boosters as clinically vulnerable, in case it makes any difference!

I have had Covid twice - the first time in April 2022. The second time Christmas 2023.

For ages now I have been noticing my own body odour (although I have also been sweating more) and I HATE it. I'm so paranoid. I thought it was a peri-menopause symptom and have tried all sorts to stop it. Never had as many deodorants as I do right now, but none seem to help.

You now have me thinking.... I reckon this all started post that first case of Covid. Maybe it is related to that! Not that it helps me of course, but I'll scroll back through this thread in case any one has some tips.

You have a form of long Covid. Which was more likely as you did not get vaccinated

Just found this old thread on here in fact:

Yes I had Covid last year and totally lost my sense of smell for months, and had diminished taste sensation. I still can’t smell very much at all, not even my newborn’s head months later, or my toddler’s poo-filled nappy…! Quite paranoid that I wouldn’t even know if I have terrible body odour.

Very interesting! @Tillow4ever

Assuming that it's my own personal smell vs ab actual change in my smell.

Much happier I didn't then! Know so many either very serious to acute long covid symptoms.

If a weird smell is all, ill certainly take that!
