To think that at nearly 35 I shouldn't be riddled with acne...

Just that really. I turn 35 next month and currently have a crater chin and old acne scarring and little white heads popping up constantly. I have a fairly good skincare routine and making a conscious effort to drink more water. I do wear makeup daily because without... well it gors without saying. I use micellar water each evening and cleanse. Please what am I missing?! I know first world problems and that but it is REALLY getting me down, I feel like hiding away.

”You could be waiting over a year for a dermatologist referral”
It really shouldn’t take that long, but it will depend on waiting times in your local area.
You might as well start the ball rolling as soon as possible - you can always try other things in the meantime.

”Dermatica and skin and me are very affordable ways to, with quick access to get prescription topicals usually only available through a dermatologist”
^ this worries me. For a fee you can get topicals usually only available from a dermatologist? Really? What qualifies them to do that? Are they medically trained and have a medical degree? Personally I would be very wary of this.

Dermatologists and pharmacists review your photos and answers to their questionnaire and then prescribe a topical lotion.

I was prescribed differin by an NHS dermatologists which just seemed to inflame my skin but the combination of tretonin, clindamycin and azelaic acid that I have been prescribed by skin and me has cleared my skin up amazingly. They are also available to answer any questions by email.

But not everyone can afford to pay.
That’s why suggested the OP starts the ball rolling with a referral via her GP.

It's not that expensive. I pay £30 every other month. I use it every other day so it lasts me two months.
Wise to seek out a referral from GP too.
In the meantime I would suggest trying one of the cheaper trials for Dermatica or Skin & Me or both! I trialled both to start with and found Dermatica a bit harsh for my sensitive skin but if you can tolerate the higher concentration of tret then you get more bang for your buck with them.

@PoptartPoptart agree that not everyone can/will want to pay (I’m spending about £120 or so per year on my tretinoin) but I thought you were querying the legitimacy of the service so I was just pointing out that it is regulated- it’s a proper prescription so it’s not unsafe, as I thought you were implying.
