to feel like i have been diddled by a seller on ebay........but have I?

ds needed to get a film quick. as he has to do an essay on it for coursework. he saw the play/film ages ago and can't remember it.
I tried amazon. no luck. I googled it and it is not avalable. so I tried ebay. got it for £5.99 plus £1 pp&p buy it now option.
turned up today and is a copy.
it works and will do the job. but I can't help feeling diddled as it is a copy.
yet....when I was asking about it on mn. if someone had offered me a copy I owuld have jumped ar it.
so AIBU for feeling diddled?

I'm naughty - I don't mind buying copies so long as they work well. A friend recently got me copies of 2 tv series through a friend of her boyfriend and they were rubbish so I just thought my mistake. It solved your problem - it's obviously a pirate copy because any ciopy is a pirate whether copied from a VHS tape or another disk but so long as you got it and it works I wouldn't really worry. Despite the fact that it is illegal it's probably just someone trying to make a bit of extra money and not as we're often told funding terrorism etc.

it said it was transferred to dvd so to me it was obvious it was a copy. i would still report it though.

they arent really being untruthful tbh - it does a region-free dvd transferred to DVD format. ebay probably wont be interested as they are not actually saying that its original and i;m not sure if its a pirate copy if the format has been changed. if it works ok, i would personally leave it at that.
