And of course it is almost all girls getting told they need to put chemicals on their skin to look "pretty". Then they will be told they have to cover their faces up completely in make up to be acceptable to be seen in public.

Why are parents not protecting their daughters from this blatantly misogynistic and physically and emotionally damaging exploitation?

I find the makeup less problematic than the skincare routines. Make up for little girls is dressing up, for pre-teens/teens it's about forming your identity and/or looking older. But a 'skincare regime' for anyone under 12/13? WTF?

I watched that story on the BBC this morning as a mum (of 8/9 year old?) discussed how now they need to read the labels to check that the chemicals aren't too harsh?? err, no you don't. you need to tell your daughter she doesn't need any skincare products at her age.

It's how the parents are allowing their young children to be influenced. I don't understand how you would allow young primary aged girls to be so influenced by big corporations paying influencers to push their products onto your children!

I don't understand whick parents think that "DRUNK elephant" is somehow marketed at kids!! It's so obviously an adult name!

Why are their parents buying that fancy stuff for them?

The same reason grown adults are walking around with Giant sippy cups, sheeple who are scared of not being on trend and not having the crap to show on their insta.
