Do you watch this?
Every week, there loads of pitches and investments but never any updates?
When was the last time BBC did an update programme?
I'm sure people would like to know what's happened to things they invested in?

Also at the beginning, they start showing the pitches and reactions and spoiling the show.
Why not just ley it run from the beginning?
No tweets are ever answered when I've asked?
Does this programme need a reform?
Enjoy business programmes but think there's something lacking here?

They also passed on the trunki
Didn't the strap of it break when they were pitching though? That looked too dodgy! I love dragon’s den, they do update shows every so often, I’d say a huge percentage don’t actually get signed in the end though

I remember Theo Paphitis really forcing that handle though. It was no wonder it broke.

It did the designer no harm though. People liked the product and many thousands of them were sold. It wasn't that long after the show that you could hardly move around airports because they were rammed full of kids on trunkis. You still see them occasionally now, but less.

I remember saying to DH when that show first aired that our three DDs would have loved that as toddlers (they no longer were by then) and that it would probably be a success despite the dragons because it was a good idea. Plenty of people clearly also agreed.

Remember when Peter insisted everyone wear a suit to pitch.
Think it's time he was moved on, been getting richer on the back of everyone else for years.
Move over now.

Haven’t watched for a while and agree that he’s certainly as annoying as most of the others over the years. Some investors have piggybacked a media career in reality tv off it and aren’t really what you’d truly deem dragons. But then again there’s Alan Sugar still needing apprentices and doing same.

I know someone who went on it at the very beginning, years ago. He got an offer which he accepted, then never heard from them again.

That's awful @Frances0911

What did he do about it ?
I'd have gone public about it.
Did his idea succeed anyway ?

People are headhunted to go on the show, have a look at the recent ear seeds one, Steven’s frigging brother is a director!

I still enjoy it but I think the editing has been off this season. Perhaps they trying to cram more pitches into the hour but there have been instances when the panel’s reactions to the pitches is very out of kilter with what the viewer has seen and that devalues our engagement. Also was one successful pitch where nobody was seen asking about the business model and current revenue streams, - it was a product with more than one. There is no way that wasn’t covered in the full length pitch but the editing made it look like the dragons saw an idea and an impressive pitcher and just made a leap of faith.

They need to edit it so we can follow the (heavily edited) evolution of the pitch so the dragons’ included comments and decisions make sense and matter to us. Well edited, it’s a bit like Antiques Roadshow where the viewers at home are actively engaged and giving their own opinions and commenting out loud to each other like in The Royle Family, poorly edited it’s just a procession.

It's insipid and boring now, also notice Deborah environmental credentials go out of window if there is profit to be made.

Also Stephen gives me really bad vibes he's silmy as hell.

I love it! Still.

This series has got particularly gimmicky in a bid to gain viewers with the ‘celeb’ guest dragons. I don’t give a fuck about Gary Neville’s opinion, what the hell does he know about anything other than football?

EscapeTheCastle · 26/01/2024 10:29

It's been on since 2005 so no wonder you feel bored of it. It feels like a tired old format now.

dottypotter · 26/01/2024 20:35

I guess it's abit like the apprentice too.
