Any dentists around?

Posting in here for traffic. Sorry. I had one of my upper wisdom teeth out 3 weeks ago this coming Monday and although it feels completely fine if I leave it alone, if I touch it with my finger it is REALLY painful still - possibly a nerve type pain. Is this normal? I'm just concerned there's something else going on. Thank you!

Dry socket.

Not a dentist

Uppers usually don’t cause too much trouble but there is a bit of bone up there which can fracture a little during extraction ( and heal by itself)

If it’s fine when you’re not poking it then don’t poke it and give it time.

dry socket probably would have happened much closer to the time (presuming it wasn’t insanely painful in the week following the extraction?)

your dentist should review you if you are still worried.

I'm not a dentist but have had extensive dental work recently. It shouldn't be extremely painful to touch, unless you are really poking it. If it was dry socket I think it would be worse, like the pain would be there constantly without pressure. If you are struggling to brush/floss the nearby tooth it could be food is stuck in between? Can you comfortably floss/tp the nearby teeth?
Use some corsodyl gel around the affected area for a few days, but also seek a dental appointment ASAP as only they can really know if it's infected/ dry socket etc.
