To ask for some advice re going into the office and WFH?

I work full time, and pre Covid, I worked in the office every day.

During Covid, all my colleagues and I worked from home, which I got very used to.

Since the pandemic, I’ve found it difficult to get back into the routine of going into the office.

Whenever I go into the office, I really enjoy seeing my colleagues and catching up with them, but I find it difficult to actually go in. My colleagues are lovely and very inclusive, and there is a lovely social environment created even for colleagues working from home, as all the meetings are set up for colleagues to dial into virtually (all of the colleagues tend to split their working week between working from home and in the office).

I realise how this comes across and that it sounds very lazy - I don’t even live very far away from the office (about a 45-minute journey on public transport, roughly).

Does anyone have any advice for how I can get myself back into gear please? Thanks so much.

It can be hard. ☹️

For years I trudged into the office (sometimes public transport, other times I drove) but it always niggled me that my job could be done from an office much closer to home but management would not allow it as they wanted everyone under the same roof (made no difference to the work as there was a minimum of interaction between us).
COVID arrived and we were sent home where we remained WFH for over 2yrs (and probably working more effectively).
In the end they started calling us back in (just 1-2 days a week to start) but by then it was too late, I decided it wasn't for me and I retired (57). Best decision I ever made. 🙂

What made it more laughable was that when we went back, the company spent huge sums on renovation and introduced a new kitchen, meeting rooms, wellbeing spaces, gym etc but by then most people were out of the routine and often went in, sat at their desk all day wearing headphones (eating their lunch in situ) and then went home having barely spoken to colleagues.
