All we do is work, work, work

Spending hours a week working. How depressing. We’re labour slaves.

I know how to count my blessings. I’ve been lucky in life.

But can’t ignore the gnawing work, work, work, week in week out. It’s always there bubbling under the surface.

Ps I heard the worst thing ever last year. (In Ireland) 70% of people asked (survey of 10000), said they dread work so much on a Monday that they actively worry on Sunday night. I find that horrible

Always thought Sunday blues were pretty common.

One alternative is to work a job with shifts, so X days or nights at work, the Y days off work

Longer hours at work

More time off !

If you only work, then yes, it's a problem and it's boring.

But if you have things outside of work, and a happy workplace, it's fine.

I don't sit around working all the time. I exercise, read books, bake, walk my dog, spend time with my DH, go to the movies, go on trips, live life!

It was the ‘actively dread’ bit (which they stressed, there was a step below that was basically said ‘oh god tomorrow is Monday) that got me- I’ve thought ‘oh god work tomorrow’ (although, because am in retail working most Sundays now sothat’s gone😅), but to feel sick over it, I’ve only felt that a handful of times when something big was happening or I wasn’t getting on with someone. To feel it every Sunday night seems really wrong

I do a job I enjoy and that does some good, I'm public sector and work for the UK's innovation agency.

Outside of work I have hobbies both on my own and shared with DH. We both run and set goals and targets for the year, we plan running adventures so we don't just plod round the streets.

Look for the fun that working facilitates, we mostly work for the money so accept that the money means you can then enjoy life. It's as much a mindset than anything
