To have eaten two of DD1's creme eggs?

expatinscotland · 19/03/2008 16:04

I bought her a six pack of them, for her Easter basket.

On top of that, she has two big eggs with creme eggs from her grandparents.

And my mother also sent over two big boxes, full of even more sweeties for her Easter - among other stuff.

She also went to nursery today and they did an egg hunt and she found two more large plastic eggs with creme eggs inside.

Whilst she was away, I caved and scoffed two of the creme eggs.

Why do I feel guilty?

OK I confess too - I have a cupboard full of Easter eggs for various cousins and friends etc.

It would have been rude not to eat just ONE of them wouldn't it?

belgo · 19/03/2008 16:06

I really want a cadbury's creme egg now. Can't buy them here; have to eat belgian chocolate instead

rosybud · 19/03/2008 16:09

Don't feel guilty.

Creme eggs = yum.

Will now have to go and buy one.

Fizzylemonade · 19/03/2008 16:09

I thought this was one of the perks of the job!!

You can get away with this until they are old enough to count how many they have and remember how many they have eaten, so basically when they can do simple maths.

Even then you will probably be nipping out to your local 24 hour supermarket to replace the one you ate

Walnutshell · 19/03/2008 16:10

you are sparing her the cavities.

in fact, you should eat another one.

expatinscotland · 19/03/2008 16:10

she didn't know about these creme eggs.

she has a LOT and loads of other sweeties besides.

she is stuffing herself with jellybeans now.

It wasn't your fault.

Tis dc3, needing nourishment. Only fair to share chocolate amongst children equally.

ipodtherforipoor · 19/03/2008 16:17

ahh the good old "The Baby did it"

CaptainUnderpants · 19/03/2008 16:30

YOU ATE TWO !

Only two ?

out of a six pack only eating two is really self disciplined.

I have eaten more than that when buying a six pack - what they dont know they wont miss

Flynnie · 19/03/2008 16:31

Didn't you know it is illegal to leave a partially opened six pack of Creme eggs unattended??
Get back and finish what you started before you get done for neglect.

meemar · 19/03/2008 16:49

YANBU. You are helping her

FairyFay · 19/03/2008 16:49

I ate ALL of DD's Easter eggs last year as I thought she was too young for all that chocolate

PrimulaVeris · 19/03/2008 16:54

Eating an offspring's creme eggs is one of the supreme sacrifices of Motherhood.

(The ultimate sacrifice being a Lindt bunny)

Flynnie · 19/03/2008 17:02

I knew that i wasn't sacrificing enough for LO.....just off to the cupboard and what a good mother i will be!

How do Kinder bueno cream eggs rate?

doublethetrouble · 19/03/2008 17:15

Definately not unreasonable. Your just stopping her teeth from falling out!

nametaken · 19/03/2008 17:16

I have already eaten my easter egg and my husbands too and I have to replace them before he finds out. I am so ashamed and embarrased. Why do I do it.

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 17:18

I think you have a duty, as a responsible mother, to eat quite a bit more of that stash tbh. I'd feel guilty if I didn't.

DS was given an easter agg yesterday, I'd already got him one so I've decided the one I bought him can ectually now be mine, under the circumstances

PrimulaVeris · 19/03/2008 17:22

Never tried Kinder ...

Thank goodness that local Woollies has large stash of Lindt bunnies in stock. Not that the ones destined for dcs have to be replaced or anything oh no ...
