To feed baby crumble?

My 6 month old baby just started weaning. Would it be unreasonable to feed her a little bit of apple and berry crumble, made with butter, sugar, flour and fruit?

If you’d like help with food I’d really recommend Solid Starts app and Instagram account. It has huge amounts of information, all written by medical professionals and linked to research. Definitely helps to lower anxiety!

the outrage on this thread is hilarious.

babies are tough and resilient. a little spoon of crumble is not an issue

its not like OP will be giving her a bowl of it for every meal

every baby is different. some wean earlier than others, some later. OP do what feels right for you.

You do what feels right for you. Lots of people don't give refined sugar until aged 1, but it's totally each to their own!

Totally fine.

From 6 months baby can eat almost anything you can except whole nuts, honey and some shellfish.

There is only a limited supply of crumble in the world. I had my share when at university many years ago. Even crimble crumble.

Do you want to deny an adult their share?

You'd be better thinking about introducing a balanced and nutritious diet (including the occasional crumble) that you'll maintain for their entire childhood.

The overall picture is more important than sticking rigidly to ideals and then feeding them crap once they're older.

Each to their own op, you'll get mixed responses here but personally speaking I didn't give ds anything overly sugary or sweet until he was well established with plain and less sweet foods such as veg etc. You could easily make a baby friendly version with stewed fruit, cinnamon and make your own crumble with butter and flour or breadcrumbs. I would have made ds baby versions of our food all the time, it doesn't need to be anything overly complex!

Absolutely not. No 6m old should be having sugar

Clearly you've never checked the sugar content in baby formula 😅
