It’s pointless because English replaced it. People from hundreds of cultures can speak English around the world and English is so flexible that it can adapt to local preferences while still allowing a Scots speaker to understand someone speaking Jamaican English, say. But yes it’s nice having more languages as a bit of fun but in terms of the actual serious goal of Esperanto, English won.

no not really. The point of Esperanto is not to purely enable communication between people who speak different languages. It is so that this communication takes place on an even playing field, that there is no physical territory attached to the means of communication (the main cause of wars) and no presumption that the native speaker are somehow superior (you only have to look at how America and Britain view themselves).
