To think vinted is out of order

I sold an item on vinted, packaged it carefully and drove 5 miles to the drop point and 5 miles back. Item arrived and I my after 3 days I got a notification that is being returned to me. No explanation why other than "they couldn't deliver it" but it was shipped to a pick up point, I can see it arrived on the 15th at night and ring returned today less than 72 hours after it arrived. Buyer was I responsive and today they said they had an emergency and couldn't collect. Vinted has cancelled the order and refunded the buyer, now I have no item and no money and just wasted money, petrol and time with this sale. Even if the seller had bought from an online business they would have not gotten a refund until the product arrived back to the seller so I don't understand why vinted just deemed appropriate to side with buyer. I was honestly not aware I was obliged to ake returns.

Unfortunately the law sides with the buyer when it comes to online retail. It is always concidered the responsibility of the seller to get the item to the buyer and have a record of the delivery. Not a picture of it left outside a house or just the courier stating it was delivered. The seller should have adequate insurance for the item should it be lost or damaged in transit. As a retailer you can stipulate in yyour T &C that the buyer is responsible for the cost of the return and refund them minus those costs. As you are selling through a 3rd party platform, in this case Vinted you are bound by their T&C and what they decide is reasonable.

I had the same where it said the parcel was being sent back to me but never came. I lost out on the money and the item.
