Aibu to worry about ds foot?

Hi, NC for this. Noticed this on toddler ds foot the other day. It's not raised and was quite red when I first spotted it and is now slowly fading but still visible. Doesn't seem to bother him when it's touched and he's well in every other way. No idea what caused it and no other injuries. What one earth could this be? Aibu to be a bit worried? Google isn't offering much in way of help.

It looks like a bite mark 🤔

Sahara123 · 15/01/2024 09:35

That was my first thought too

Sahara123 · 15/01/2024 09:37

Does he go to nursery, have siblings or mix with other children at all ?

Dottyfoot · 15/01/2024 09:37

Do you think so? As in a person or insect? Absolutely impossible to be a person as was with me all day shopping and not out my sight once.

Ringworm.

Sahara123 · 15/01/2024 09:38

Person, well, other small child really!

MegaMeg2710 · 15/01/2024 09:39

Looks like a little person’s mouth shape teeth imprints… Could he possibly have bitten his own foot? Maybe another child the day/couple of days before?

Sahara123 · 15/01/2024 09:40

Good point above, toddlers are quite bendy

NoCloudsAllowed · 15/01/2024 09:40

It couldn't be bed bug or flea bite, could it? Any pets or recent holidays?

Maybe he just dropped something on his foot hard? Like a glass bottle with a ridgy bottom?

Dottyfoot · 15/01/2024 09:41

I guess that's not totally impossible but never seen him try that before and just not something I could see him do. Still, they are quite unpredictable I suppose!

It's the bug route I was going down but couldn't see anything similar on Google. We spend a lot of time outdoors but nothing really jumped out on Google images.

Is he missing a couple of bottom teeth , there’s a gap 🤣.

Toomuch44 · 15/01/2024 09:44

I don't suppose he's extremely agile and could have raised his foot to his own mouth? If not, maybe digging nails in.

You say he's a toddler, can you ask him about it to see if he can remember dropping something, anything happening?

imjusthere4 · 15/01/2024 09:45

Could it be ringworm? Is it itchy?

Pumpkinpie1 · 15/01/2024 09:46

Bite or ring worm

pickledandpuzzled · 15/01/2024 09:49

It’s teeth marks- from someone with that number of teeth.

does he go to nursery? Does he have that many teeth himself?

ronoi · 15/01/2024 09:50

I would imagine he has bitten his foot

Dottyfoot · 15/01/2024 09:57

He isn't scratching it and when I touch it doesn't seem to be in any pain. Skin isn't broken either. I'm baffled

Seeline · 15/01/2024 10:04

It really does look like a human bite mark.

Measure his mouth and teeth and see if they match up - I bet he has bitten his foot.
Someone has....

DaisyCat33 · 15/01/2024 10:22

Yeah to me it looks like he's bitten his own foot. I work with children who often do this, and I've seen bite bruises like this before.

Dottyfoot · 15/01/2024 10:28

Thanks everyone, really helpful replies. Going to keep an eye and see if he tries it again

Mischance · 15/01/2024 11:21

Hell - I wish I could bite my own foot!!

It is not ringworm, where the ring is filled in with pink/red and it is itchy.

These are teeth marks.

endofthelinefinally · 15/01/2024 11:25

Lace up shoes too tight? If the laces have thick eyelets I mean?

ManateeFair · 15/01/2024 12:49

That's not ringworm.

He's definitely bitten his own foot! A toddler can easily get their foot into their mouth.

BobbyBiscuits · 15/01/2024 19:20

It's not ringworm I don't think, I really looks like a bite human (small child's) bite. He must have done it to himself! I'm sure it will go down. If not go speak to the pharmacist.
